SIGMA is a public alliance of universities that has emerged and developed from within the university system itself.

For more than three decades, we have been working on behalf of and for universities, providing them with services and developing a shared technological infrastructure that meets their academic management and research needs, through a shared perspective and a strategic vision.

Over 30 years of co-creating the future of higher education

Foundation

The Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB), the Autonomous University of Madrid (UAM), Carlos III University of Madrid (UC3M) and Pompeu Fabra University (UPF) identified a common need and formalised their collaboration to develop an integrated computerised academic management system. The SIGMA project was launched.
