Micro-credentials: the revolution in non-formal training

With the incorporation of micro-credentials —short training certifications aimed at acquiring specific competencies— into non-formal university education, SIGMA adapts its solution to respond to this new context, in line with the framework set out in Royal Decree 822/2021.

The project aims to integrate this new training typology into SIGMA Academic, incorporating a renewed technological foundation that is more modern, stable and robust, as part of the platform's ongoing evolution.

The rollout begins in early 2024, is delivered in two initial releases throughout 2025, and continues to evolve in 2026 with the incorporation of new features, most notably credential certification integrated with the CERTIDIGITAL solution, a system that enables the digital issuance and verification of these certifications.
