NEO is already making its mark at the University of Burgos

The NEO project, led by SIGMA in collaboration with its partner institutions, aims to address the technological evolution of universities, adapting and updating their technological foundations to improve the learning experience and educational management. This approach makes it possible to move towards more efficient digital environments, eliminating obsolete models and facilitating the evolution, scalability, interoperability and security of their academic solutions.

In this context, the execution phase of PDI-Desk begins in 2025, focused on reviewing and improving the tools aimed at teaching and research staff. The goal is to offer a unified platform that provides centralized access to support tools for management, teaching and research.

This evolution contributes to the automation and simplification of administrative processes, freeing up more time for core teaching and research activities.

As a first milestone, the rollout takes place at the University of Burgos, where putting the system into production represents a significant step forward in the project's deployment. The rating obtained — 4.3 out of 5 from teaching and research staff — reflects a positive reception and validates the approach taken.

In addition, the pilot begins at the Universitat de les Illes Balears and version V1.0 is completed, incorporating advances in modules such as Final Degree Projects and Internships, Doctoral Studies, scientific output and technical architecture.
